The Associate Database Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining database architecture and code initiatives supporting internal and third party software solutions, delivering excellent products in scope and on time, and meeting current and long-term business needs for the business area. Participate in a team of motivated, driven, high-energy developers, building trust and confidence with team members and business stakeholders.

Ongoing Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work as a non-primary database developer on a project team
  • Implement timely solutions for tasks assigned
  • Collaborate with team members to create business value
  • Follow development processes and procedures
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Maintain and improve existing database objects
  • Perform testing and validation of system modifications
  • Ensure current and accurate system documentation
  • Understand customer needs and requirements

Required Skills, Abilities & Knowledge

  • Bachelors Degree in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Recent experience with relational databases
  • Ability to communicate clearly (written and oral) with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Possess a proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results
  • Understand and remain knowledgeable of current and leading edge technologies
  • Ability to write SQL queries and statements to explore source data and data issues
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and other Office type applications
  • Organized and attentive to details

Preferred Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:

  • Experience creating stored procedures, views, and functions
  • Experience with MS SQL Server or other database technologies
  • Experience working in a team
  • Experience with an IDE application
  • Understanding of SCRUM/Agile software development
  • Problem solving skills and intellectually curious
  • Strong motivation to expand their knowledge in the technical field
