Duties and Responsibilities – “Your Role”

With a genuine interest in the financial world and the technology associated with it, candidates will be excited and intellectually curious to learn about the technologies behind some of the world’s biggest and most complex financial organisations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Participate in and contribute to design and development of specific internal applications
  • Work in team using agile methodology of software development (Scrum, iterations, continuous integration, daily stand up, etc)
  • Collaboration with project sponsors to refine and deliver according to given requirements
  • Promote continuous improvement within development and across the company

Job Requirements – “About You”

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering
  • A demonstrable high-level understanding of the Java language and a passion for programming
  • Candidates will be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills, will be able to collaborate in a team environment and will have a methodical and detailed approach to problem solving
  • Java Certification (desirable)

An aptitude and practical understanding of:

  • J2EE – EJB, JMS
  • PL/SQL
  • XML
  • Web based Technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, etc)
  • Test Driven Development

Desirable technologies and tools:

  • Familiarity with Test Driven Development & Continuous Integration
  • Application Servers (Tomcat, JBoss/Weblogic/Websphere)
  • Messaging Middleware (MQ, JMS)
  • GWT
  • Eclipse, XMLSpy, Toad
  • Open-Source Software
  • Understanding of profiling and memory analysis tools
