This is an exciting opportunity for an Upstream Asset Valuation Analyst to join the Vantage team. The analyst will be predominantly responsible for maintaining, enhancing and growing global oil and gas asset content. The ability to use critical judgment supported by a technical background and/or industry experience will be paramount to succeed in this role.
As an Upstream Asset Valuation Analyst, you will:
Undertake extensive research and analysis relating to global oil and gas projects.
Work as part of a global team to contribute to the valuation of oil and gas assets.
Ensure data validity, consistency and alignment with internal and external benchmarks where possible through the application of rigorous quality control and assurance processes.
Utilize modelling skills and knowledge base for the continual refinement and creation of global models.
Perform detailed research and critically assess field/company/country data from various sources.
Detailed and thorough knowledge of the key components involved in upstream asset modelling and valuation.
Specific experience of field development planning, project cost estimation, drilling activity and production forecasting.
An understanding of petroleum fiscal regimes and commodity pricing are highly beneficial.
A good understanding of the commercial and strategic aspects of the upstream business.
Highly analytical and quantitative – ability to critically review inputs, calculations and outputs. Comfortable synthesizing and digesting and visualizing large datasets.
Strong quantitative skills. Advanced MS Excel a must, MS Access, VBA coding would be beneficial.
Education and Background:
2-5 years’ experience gained in the upstream business – with an operator, partner or research / consulting organization
Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology or Economics. Familiarity with basic economic concepts relevant for DCF valuation a key advantage
