The Associate Director's responsibility is to deliver consulting services to a broad range of clients, including oil companies, midstream players and financial services firms in the Americas. While the colleague is expected to support the delivery of various consulting projects within oil markets, midstream and downstream (OMD) sectors in the entire region, the position will have a particular focus in refining, applying his/her expertise in the use of refinery LP models as appropriate. It is expected that he/she would provide leadership and input into the OMD consulting as well as research teams and in the development and maintenance of IHS Markit’s generic refinery PIMS model.
Successful colleagues will be able to sell, manage and deliver consulting projects using his/her refining knowledge and experience and by leveraging IHS Markit’s research and consulting knowledge base. Expertise and experience in one or more of the downstream segments besides refining, e.g. trading, crude and oil product distribution and petrochemicals, are strongly preferred for this role to deliver strategic advice to clients. Broad knowledge of the market dynamics and competitive landscape in the downstream sector globally and in Americas is also preferred. Projects typically require market and technical assessments, asset evaluation, competitive analysis, etc. that support clients' business and investment decisions. Marketing IHS Markit’s expertise and himself/herself as a strategic advisor to clients with professionalism is essential. The colleague should also endeavor to build and nourish relationships with key industry contacts that utilize or could benefit from IHS Markit’s services. The colleague must be able to lead small consulting teams, work autonomously, serve as a subject matter expert in refining economics and LP modeling, and be able to build working relationships with clients and colleagues within the IHS Markit organization.
