An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the IHS Markit’s Engineering and Product Design Business Line (E&PD) as a Sales Executive. The Sales Executive works within a team that sells specific new innovative platform solutions to existing and new customers in Spain.

These solutions are Engineering Standards, Knowledge Collections, Technical eBooks and Articles, Patents and the Engineering Workbench SaaS innovative platform.

The Sales Executive works on issues of diverse scope requiring analysis of a variety of factors within a broad sales framework. With an understanding of the value the solution brings to the customer, business, financials, products, services and account needs, the Sales Executive answers customer questions or requests. In addition, this role plans own territory or account approaches on assigned objectives.

As a Sales Executive, You Will:

  • Generate a substantive sales pipeline using core sales processes to produce revenue in line with quota.
  • Ensure that accurate forecasting, pipeline management and other sales process /infrastructures are established.
  • Create and monitor lead generation action plans within defined segments to grow new business
  • Build effective long-term relationships / high level of customer delight - with key senior-level decision-makers and influencers across an assigned group of customer accounts.
  • Provide "Insight" to customer decision making through Industry, business and extensive product knowledge.
  • Be able to clearly articulate the IHS Markit E&PD value proposition.
  • Be mainly involved in selling new products and solutions - work with limited direction or oversight required.
  • Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of a variety of factors within a broad sales framework including a strong understanding of customer need.
  • Have developed an understanding of business, financials, products and services and account needs.
  • Develop an understanding of core sales processes: complexity of accounts, territory, products and services sold is varied.
  • Will answer customer questions /requests based upon interpreting facts, developing recommendations, or resolution of issues.
  • Plan own territory or account approach based on assigned objectives.

As a Sales Executive, you will be expected to have: 

  • University degree (Bachelors or equivalent) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • developed industry products and services knowledge.
  • At least 5 years of solution selling experience (Closing large and complex sales).
  • Track record of accomplishment, and consistent performance.
  • Experience selling into discreet manufacturing / R&D / Engineering ideal.
  • developed an understanding of value proposition and core sales process.
  • Ability to work in virtual team, in the complex and fast-paced organization
  • Proficiency with sales automation tools (Salesforce)
  • Language skills: Spanish, English (Italian is an advantage)
  • High-quality presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with and sell to senior-level management.
  • Ability to work independently.
