Summer internship opportunities include Development, Data Analyst and Product Operations.  These positions will work within the Product and Operations group in our Equities Data Analytics team in Singapore.  The team focuses on delivering high-quality data and information solutions to our customers in order to help them make critical business decisions.

Eligibility: Our next internship program runs through the summer of 2020. We’re looking for students who are working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent), and due to complete their studies and be available for a full time graduate role commencing in the summer of 2021.

We want to build a pipeline of exceptional emerging leaders. If you excel in your internship, you could be fast tracked onto our full-time graduate program!

The role

As an Intern with IHS Markit, you will undertake work on a real business project intended to add value to the team as well as provide you with a great learning opportunity.   In addition, you will take responsibility for daily tasks similar to those a permanent Programmer/Analyst would perform, which will provide you with the opportunity to see how a career within the automotive data industry will start. Upon completion of the internship, you will have an understanding of how data plays a critical part in making key business decisions in the auto industry and how it adds value to our customers.  You will see how the business and technical side of application development come together to create impactful and actionable information and how the technology is maintained and developed in order to keep it competitive in the marketplace.

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should demonstrate the following education, skills and experience:

  • Work with business customers to define and document specific data requirements and business rule logic to extract/present data from a large-scale data mart

  • Participate and contribute to design specifications for application development based on identified business rules and data requirements

  • Develop and test logic using standard IHS Markit technologies (Python, PL/SQL, C#) based on detailed requirements and design

  • Experience in Python, PL/SQL and C#

  • Experience with business and technical requirements, data analysis, testing, development methodology

  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills

  • Excel skills and proficiency with other MS applications (Word and PowerPoint)

  • The ability to work to deadlines and prioritize a complex workload

  • Strong quantitative, analytical and quality control skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • A flexible attitude and the ability to work collaboratively

To be eligible for a Summer Internship, you will:

  • Pursuing working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) completing no later than September 2021
  • This program is aimed at students with 0-6 months relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated passion or interest in one or more of our key industries
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • An ability to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
  • The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting
  • Be legally eligible to work for the duration of the program in the country for which you apply

For our Technology Stream applicants, we recommend the following:

  • A Science, Technology, Engineering or Math’s related degree.
  • An understanding and/or interest in any of the following;
    • Software development methodologies
    • Quality assurance
    • Infrastructure
    • Microsoft technologies
    • Relational databases
    • Java based technologies

You may be considered for multiple suitable roles throughout this process. If these roles fall within the same stream, you will be assessed during the same process. If the roles fall across multiple streams, you may be asked to complete different assessments aligned to those roles.

We recruit on a rolling basis and most of our assessment days are due to take place from November 2019. We recommend early application.
